This innovative blood test is designed to confirm whether, following infection of vaccination, your body has developed neutralising IgG antibodies to COVID-19. The test will give you a quantitative measure of how your immune system has responded (between levels of 0 – 80,000 AU/ml) and can be used to monitor your antibody levels over time. An AU/ml level of above 50 units is taken to confirm that your body has produced an immune response, or antibodies.
This quantitative test is suitable for anyone seeking to find out whether they have produced antibodies in response to a previous COVID-19 infection, or after having the vaccine. It can be repeated as desired, to enable you to monitor your IgG antibody levels over time and will enable you to see whether your levels are dropping to below those recognised as providing immunity.
The test uses a finger-prick to draw blood and can be undertaken quickly and easily from the comfort of your own home; simply complete the registration form, take your blood sample and return it to the lab via the pre-paid Royal Mail envelope. Once your sample has been processed, typically within 48 hours of receipt, you will receive your results by email. All results are reviewed by a doctor prior to be being sent back to you.
The test can be taken at any point, provided that it is 15 days after your initial COVID-19 infection or since your second vaccination.
